C8 Chevy Corvette Gets First R8C Museum Delivery

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette has many cool options, most of which have to do with performance (take the Z51 or Z07, for instance). But arguably the coolest of all is R8C. That’s the option that allows a new owner to take delivery of the new car at the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky. It’s $995 option and it includes a trip for you and three guests to the NCM where you will see your car on display; a VIP guided tour; a presentation of your new vehicle; a gold decal inside the vehicle and a welcome sign with red-carpet treatment.

The first R8C delivery took place yesterday, with a torch-red C8 Corvette handed off to its new owners, Glenn and Andrea Johnson of Port Neches, Texas. It’s the sixth Corvette that the Johnsons have owned but their first on-site delivery. Oh, and Glenn Johnson also happens to be the Chairman of the Board at NCM (coincidence?).

If you get a Corvette and don’t check the R8C box, or even if you don’t have a Corvette, the NCM is still a great place to spend half a day. It features more than 80 Corvettes in period settings, including classics and prototypes, trivia kiosks and, of course, the repaired sinkhole where a few ‘Vettes met their demise—and even some of those are still on display. If you’re feeling brave, take a hot lap at NCM Motorsports Park. Check out corvettemuseum.org for more information.
