The Upscale Fiat 500X Yacht Club Capri Docks at L.A. Auto Show
This past summer, you may have caught wind of the posh and limited-production Fiat 500X wearing blue paint with an interior loaded with fancier trim then entering the European market. While scanning the floor at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, we had a chance to capture the North American version of this special edition in person at the L.A. auto show.
Based on the 500X Sport trim, the 2022 Fiat 500X Yacht Club Capri has several unique features that make it stand out from other 500Xs. The most notable upgrade is the electrically retractable blue soft top. Dubbed “Al-Fresco,” the retractable fabric roof slides back accordion-style, allowing fresh air and sunlight to pour in, perfect for beach days or cruising in general.
The luxe interior is similarly unexpected for a 500X. The dressed-up Italian subcompact SUV gets exclusive ivory leather seats with blue piping and a woodgrain dashboard. Outside, it features Yacht Club Capri badges, satin-finished trim, and 18-inch two-tone wheels. And finally, it sports a coat of Venenzia blue paint, which has a romantic ring to it and looks stunning.
It’s a good thing this SUV seems most suited to relaxed cruising; under the hood sits a 177-hp turbocharged 1.3-liter I-4 mated to a nine-speed automatic. As the only Fiat model left standing in America, the 500X carries quite the burden, so we’re glad to see the little crossover taking a break and doing a little yachting. The price for this lil’ nautical-themed Fiat is forthcoming.
