New 2024 Subaru Impreza Price Gets a Significant Jump

Back in November of last year, we were invited to take an early look at the 2024 Subaru Impreza before it made it’s global debut at the LA Auto Show later that same month. Even though the new Impreza isn’t a complete page-one rewrite, Subaru made some notable changes to its entry level AWD vehicle including making some cuts. The biggest—and most painful to some enthusiasts—cut was eliminating the option for a manual transmission due to less than four percent of buyers opting for three pedals on the current Impreza, according to Subaru. The second cut was the sedan body style as Subaru wanted to focus a little more on utility and space for things like camping gear and snowboards. Lastly, Subaru significantly cut back on the available trims going from seven trims down to just three: Base, Sport, and the return of the RS. But now what about price?

At the time, Subaru held back on pricing so we spitballed that the MSRP would land somewhere between $25k and $30k. The good news is that the base 2024 Subaru Impreza price starts lower than $25,000. However, it’s not by much. After destination and delivery, the new Impreza will set you back $24,085 which is $3,720 more than the outgoing (manual transmission) model. We reckon the price jump comes from the fact that a CVT is the only transmission available. Despite the price increase, technically the 2024 Impreza is still the cheapest AWD car you can buy right now coming in just under the $24,135 2023 Kia Seltos AWD. That means for the same money you can buy the new Impreza and have exactly $50 bucks left over for a discounted Xbox game. Not bad!

For those wanting some stylish exterior appointments such as the exclusive Oasis Blue color and wheels, the Sport trim can be had for $26,085 and the range topping RS with a bigger and more powerful 2.5 liter 182 hp boxer engine comes in at $28,975. So, while it’s technically true that the 2024 Impreza is more expensive than the current model, Subaru managed to keep the price below its competitors which is impressive no matter how you slice it.
