2023 Acura Integra’s Four-Door Hatchback Bodystyle Teased
Acura just posted a very short clip on its social media channels that features another glimpse of the highly-anticipated 2023 Integra, and this time it’s of the car’s shapely rear end. In classic Acura style, the 10-second teaser poses more questions than answers.
The video clip rolls out with a bright red “checkmark” that runs through the center of the new Integra’s taillight, just like the matching white version on the car’s headlight, which was featured in the prior teaser. As the rear of the car gets a little brighter, a few things become immediately apparent. The first is that the new Integra is a hatchback.
The second is that it’s a four-door hatchback (also known as a five-door) and not a coupe or a sedan. Remember, the original Integra was available in such a body style.
Nevertheless, we expect a two-door Integra to follow its four-door kin. Little is known about the mechanical bits of the new Integra, but we wager it’ll share key pieces with the latest Civic, including its chassis and possibly its 1.5-liter turbocharged engine.
Back to the teaser video. A few more views of the lightning-quick clip reveal the roofline of the new Integra begins to slope down toward the hatch just aft of the B-pillar. The window trim follows that angle and terminates at a point above the rear quarter panel in a way that’s reminiscent of the Acura TLX.
