2022 Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid Odyssean Edition First Look Review
To celebrate the launch of its Flying Spur Hybrid, Bentley is offering the gasoline-electric model in special Odyssean Edition form. Influenced by design elements seen in the EXP 100 GT concept car, the special model marks the first step forward in sustainable luxury as part of Bentley’s so-called “Beyond100” strategy.
The interior features a three-color upholstery scheme finished in high-quality leather chosen for its sustainability and long-term durability. Handcrafted tweed composed of British wool with tonal colors spun into a bespoke yarn is applied to the panels. Open-pore Koa veneer wood trim (0.1-millimeter thick) uses 90 percent less lacquer than high-gloss veneers. It lines the dashboard and front door panels.
Further highlighting the cabin are ombre finishes, bespoke embroidery, and lofty diamond pattern stitching, all of which take inspiration from the 100 GT concept. For a sleeker appearance, the center console comes finished in a minimalist Piano Linen veneer. The upholstery accents are a soft, warm hide called Autumn. Alongside a modern Linen hide, customers can choose from five interior specifications: Beluga, Porpoise, Cricketball, Brunel, or Burnt Oak leather. Additionally, lambswool rugs can replace the standard floor mats as an upgrade.
As for equipment options, the Touring Specification package adds a suite of advanced driver assistance systems, which include adaptive cruise control, lane assist, night vision, and a head-up display. Other bundled items consist of LED welcome lamps projecting the Bentley logo, a leather headliner, diamond pattern upholstery on the doors and rear quarters, a Bentley rotating display, and ambient lighting.
The Odyssean Edition’s exterior features Pale Brodgar accents on its 21-inch wheels, front and rear bumpers, lower body, and headlight and taillight surrounds. Bentley recommends an exclusive selection of six exterior paint finishes; however, buyers can opt for other colors.
The Flying Spur Hybrid comes powered by a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 coupled with an electric motor, the combination of which generates a peak of 536 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. Bentley did not disclose additional details on pricing, sale date, or how many Flying Spur Hybrid Odyssean Edition models it plans to make.
