SRO Motorsports Group Cancels GT World Challenge Europe Event at Monza Over Coronavirus
The SRO Motorsports Group is the latest sports organization to be struck by the coronavirus.
The series announced on Monday that the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS round that was scheduled to take place at Monza, Italy, on April 17-19 has been cancelled due to ongoing concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19.
Officials of the sports-car racing series crafted a contingency plan in February in the event that the Monza round was to be cancelled. That plan now calls for Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to hold the fifth and final round of the Endurance Cup on October 9-11. Imola, Italy, will be added to the schedule for the closing Sprint Cup event on October 30-November 1.
