Russia: Next-gen Polo Sedan (Vento) unveiled

Volkswagen has unveiled the next-generation Polo sedan (Vento) for the Russian market.

The new Polo sedan is longer, wider and taller than the outgoing model. It features a redesigned grille with chrome inserts and new wraparound headlamp clusters. At the rear, the car has wraparound tail lights and the Volkswagen logo and ‘Polo’ lettering in the centre. The rear bumper has faux chrome exhaust tips. Unlike the previous model, the new Polo sedan gets a liftback rear section.

On the inside, the Polo sedan gets an 8.25-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit, a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

In Russia, the car will be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine that is available in two states of tune – 89 BHP and 108 BHP. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, while a 6-speed automatic is available with the 108 BHP version. A 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit producing 123 BHP is also available.
