Hyundai Elantra BS6 Petrol listed on Indian website
Hyundai has listed the Elantra BS6 petrol on its official website.
The Elantra is available with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that has been updated to comply with the BS6 emission norms. The engine makes 150 BHP @ 6,200 rpm and 192 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. Compared to the old BS4 engine, the BS6 unit makes peak output at a slightly higher rpm. The engine is available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
Rumours suggest that Hyundai is also likely to offer a BS6 diesel engine option in the Elantra. It could use the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that powers the Kia Seltos. This engine produces 113 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 250 Nm @ 1,500-2,750 rpm. The engine could be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
