Hyundai Creta: Few models production reduced; waiting time up

It is said that production of some variants of the Hyundai Creta has been reduced due to the Covid-19 pandemic. These variants include the 1.5-litre Petrol MT EX and the 1.5-litre Diesel MT E variants. The waiting time for the said variants has also increased to 6 months.

The 1.5-litre diesel engine is available in 5 variants – E, EX, S, SX and SX(O). This engine produces 113 BHP and 250 Nm and is available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is available in 3 variants – EX, S and SX. It makes 113 BHP and 144 Nm and comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT. The Creta also comes with a 1.4-litre, turbo petrol engine that makes 138 BHP and 242 Nm. It is only offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The second generation Creta comes with projector headlamps with LED position lamps, front centre arm rest, rear AC vents and height adjustable driver seat as standard across all variants. The EX variant gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit.

As of July 29, 2020, Hyundai claims to have received more than 55,000 bookings for the SUV, which was launched in March 2020.
