Ford Ecosport 1.5L DCT: Saying goodbye after 6 years & 30000 km

The EcoSport has been a faithful companion over these years, being a part of quite a few trips and milestones.

BHPian libranof1987 recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Just shy of six years, the EcoSport has been sold yesterday!

While there was passive thought of needing a bigger car “some time in the future”, there was no real conversation, discussion or even a mental note regarding the need or possibility of selling the EcoSport.

I’d gone for the six year servicing two weeks back at the Ford ASC, and my SA there was discussing the availability of the EcoSport in the used car market with someone on the phone. I just casually asked if / how much my car could command and he was enthusiastic about finding a customer immediately. I quoted a figure and he was even more enthusiastic.

I checked with friends in the business, and those who sold their EcoSport recently, and arrived at a reasonable price. This SA found a couple of customers (one individual and another a dealer); the dealer came with the intention of buying the car right away (detailed inspection and checking done in the parking itself). He brought his partner the next day and the deal was done within 15min.

The car was gone, just like that! In fact, it was so sudden and unexpected, I cleared out the car while they waited.

The EcoSport has been a faithful companion over these years, being a part of quite a few trips and milestones. Having used the car, here are my parting thoughts:

Pros:

Cons:

Here’s a two inch file, documenting everything from the brochure, to the purchase papers, service records from the routine service to alignment reports, all the accessories papers, insurance copies and so on. Now redundant!

Moving on.
