911 Speedster, Which is Also the Last 991 Produced, Will Be Auctioned Off for Coronavirus Relief

Porsche is auctioning off the 1,948th 911 Speedster it will make to raise money for coronavirus relief. Not only is the car the last Speedster, it’s the last 991 generation 911 that will roll off Porsche’s assembly line.

The doubly special 911 will be sold in an online auction run by RM Sotheby’s and taking place between April 15 and 22.

The car, which normally sells for a base price of $275,750 in the US is also fitted with the optional GT Silver Metallic paint and Cognac leather interior. It also has the Heritage Design Package, which normally adds $24,510.

As with every other Speedster, it comes with a Porsche Design flyback chronograph, but this one will have the car’s chassis number engraved in it.

Perhaps the most special part of the sale will be the time you get to spend in Weissach (presumably after social distancing guidelines lift). There you will get to drive the Porsche test track and time with Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser (who heads the 911 and 718 lines) and Andreas Preuninger, head of GT cars.

The winner has to be a US resident and the money earned at auction will be donated to the United Way Worldwide’s COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund.
