2nd-gen Mahindra XUV500 spotted with production-spec grille
Latest spy images reveal the XUV500’s 7-slat grille and new alloy wheel design.
New spy images of the second generation XUV500 have surfaced online. The latest images partially reveal what appears to be the SUV’s production-spec front fascia.
The test car has a typical 7-slat grille and appears to be fitted with a production-spec front bumper. However, the camouflage makes it difficult to spot the details. Besides this, it still has dummy headlamps and turn indicators. The shape of the bodywork suggests that the car could get L-shaped LED daytime running lights. Another bit of detail that can be seen in these spy images are the new design alloy wheels and flush-fitting door handles.
On the inside, the new XUV500 will get a redesigned dashboard with a wide touchscreen infotainment head-unit and a twin-dial instrument cluster. Spy images have also revealed the car’s flat-bottom steering wheel.
According to a media report, the new model could be sold alongside the current generation XUV500. It could be offered with a 2.0-litre mStallion T-GDi turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 187 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 380 Nm at 1,750-4,000 rpm as well as a 2.0-litre diesel unit.
